When Adobe acquired Macromedia they provided perpetual keys to all registered users and those special keys (similar to what beta testers use) would never expire and did not require an activation server to validate them. but not after the app is properly activated! I can understand that an activation server is needed when doing a re-install. I have been using computers for many years and have never (or rarely) heard of an app that will 'call home' after a valid registration code has been entered. She entered her serial number and the app came back to life. When it suddenly reverted to a Trial version earlier this week she was understandably very upset and this morning when I told her that the 'validation' servers were now back on line she was relieved. She creates slide shows to entertain seniors and relies of the app to do her work. I searched and found this forum on behalf of a friend who is a long time supporter of Proshow Gold and has paid for every update until the last version.
